Hospital Bill Relief Initiative
In many parts of Nigeria, patients who are unable to pay their hospital bills after treatment are detained in medical facilities long after recovery, simply because they cannot afford to go home.
At Umuada Igbo, we believe no one should be denied freedom or dignity because of poverty. Through our Hospital Bill Relief Initiative, we identify and support such individuals by covering their outstanding medical expenses and ensuring they can return home with honour and peace of mind.
One particularly heartbreaking case involved a woman who suffered a stillbirth and was forced to remain in the maternity ward for six months due to unpaid fees. Umuada Igbo intervened, paid her bill, and reunited her with her family.
We continue to advocate for and assist patients across the country who are caught in this silent crisis restoring dignity, one life at a time.
